A few evenings, weekends and shared adventures taking shape—each one an idea to build together.
Each begins with a feeling, a place, and room for people to belong. Choose a scene for the whole experience—from your first hello to the good you carry home. Each is centered on one of the nine practices.
These are the experiences we’re shaping together. Dates, settings, menus, partners and pricing will be confirmed with each invitation.
SUMMER / UNDER THE PINESA low fire, warm marshmallows, and a story circle where kids and grownups both get a turn. Everyone gets a place in the circle.
Arrive as the light softens. A host welcomes you by name, points you toward something warm to drink, and finds your family a comfortable spot around the fire. Children can help choose their marshmallow toppings while the grownups settle in.
We begin with the important business of making a very good s’more. Then the stories start: a funny family memory, a small adventure, or something good from the week. A host keeps the circle easy and makes room for quieter voices. There is time for a simple game, a familiar song, and going back for seconds.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
Before the fire settles, we each have the chance to name a bright spot from the evening. Take your practice card home and try it around your own table. We hope you leave with sticky fingers, a new name to remember, and a little more joy than you arrived with.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of this
THE LAKE DAY / 01A generous table beneath live oaks, simple seasonal food, and water turning gold. No schedule to keep—just room to arrive, linger, and make space for one more.
Come down to the water at your own pace. A cold drink is waiting, the table is set, and a host introduces you to someone you might enjoy knowing. Bring a friend or come on your own; either way, there is a place for you.
We pass bread and platters of seasonal picnic food while the lake does its lovely work in the background. The afternoon opens into lawn games, a shoreline wander, and conversation that can drift from the funny to the meaningful. Guests choose their pace: a lively end of the table or a quiet chair with a view.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
As the water turns gold, we finish with something sweet and a chance to thank someone for a moment we shared. Stay for the last conversation or leave when you need to. The hope is simple: arrive as a guest and leave with someone you would be glad to see again.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of this
THE LAKE DAY / 02Cedar warmth, cool air off the water, soft robes and time without hurry. If a sauna sounds like your kind of afternoon, Hälsa Nordic Saunas is one resource to explore. ROOTED & KNOWN is not affiliated with Hälsa; this is simply a suggestion to learn more.
Visit Hälsa Nordic SaunasYou are welcomed into a quiet lakeside setting, shown where to change and settle, and offered water or tea. A host explains the flow so you can relax into it. There is no need to keep up with anyone else; this afternoon makes room for your own pace.
Small groups move between the cedar sauna and the outdoor resting space, with generous pauses for water, fresh air and conversation. The lake offers a view rather than a task. If the heat is not for you, the shaded lounge and a warm drink are part of the gathering too. We finish together with light seasonal food.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
Before heading home, there is time for one last cup and a quiet check-in. We want the afternoon to feel restorative and sociable, with space to talk honestly or simply sit beside someone. The invitation is to leave a little less hurried.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of this
THE LAKE DAY / 03Follow a quiet road to the open sky. Pull up a chair, share a blanket, and let the telescope give everyone a reason to look up together.
We meet before dusk for a friendly hello, something to drink, and a clear introduction to the route and the evening. Hosts help everyone find their group before we set out together. The adventure begins with time to settle, rather than a race to get somewhere.
A thoughtfully chosen scenic drive brings us to an open-sky stopping place. Chairs come out, blankets are shared, and a warm drink makes the rounds. A host helps us take turns at the telescope while we trade road stories and wait for the sky to deepen. There is room for wonder, questions, and the occasional wonderfully wrong guess at a constellation.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
We gather once more before the return, name something we noticed, and make sure the whole group is ready to head back together. With a good story and a slower rhythm, even the drive home can feel like part of the evening.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of this
THE LONG TABLEA few lights in the branches. A table made generous. Good people with a little time to stay.
This is the kind of evening we hope to make room for: familiar faces, a story passed down the table, and a welcome you can feel.
Bring us your gatheringFollow the lights into the grove. A host offers a welcome drink, introduces you around, and shows you to a place at the table. Come dressed for a comfortable evening outdoors, ready for good food and whatever lovely conversation finds its way down the table.
Dinner arrives in generous shared courses: seasonal food, warm bread, something fresh, and a sweet finish. Music stays low enough for a story to be heard. Between courses, a thoughtful question gives the conversation somewhere to go, then the evening is left room to become its own thing. No one has to perform a good answer.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
Dessert gives way to coffee, the lights stay on, and nobody is hurried out of a good conversation. We close with a small thank-you to the people who made the evening what it was. The best thing to carry home may be the sense that there is room for you here.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of this
AN EVENING TO MAKE & SHAREA relaxed watercolor evening with sparkling lemonade, good music, and room to make something imperfect and beautiful. Bring a friend; we’ll set out the brushes, colors, and a place at the table.
Find your name at a table laid with paper, brushes and a little something sparkling. A host pours a drink and makes introductions while the music settles into the background. Nobody needs to know how to paint; curiosity is plenty to bring.
A friendly guide shows us a few loose watercolor techniques, then we play with color, flowers and whatever takes shape. There are light bites to pass, time to talk, and space to laugh at a wayward brushstroke. You can follow the demonstration or wander into your own idea. The finished painting matters less than enjoying the making together.
The complete experience we’re shaping:
We set the paintings side by side for a small, cheerful gallery and notice something we love in one another’s work. Your picture and practice card come home with you. We hope a new friendship, a little creative confidence, or both make the trip too.
Come with friends or come on your own. We’ll make introductions, leave room for quiet, and let the conversation find its depth. Every invitation to share is optional.
I’d love to be part of thisPicture a little caravan of Jeeps rolling through Fort Worth’s holiday lights, with good music, cocoa, a few familiar faces and plenty of room for neighbors to join in. We are dreaming up a night that feels generous, local and easy to be part of.
This is our concept trailer—and the idea is still taking shape. We are gathering the right people, partners and practical pieces to help bring it to life.
If you have a Jeep, know a good route or a community-minded partner, have event or safety know-how, or simply want to help us pull off a joyful night, please let us know. We would love to dream it up together.
Just an idea taking shape—no date or official event details yet.
A little room for every kind of gathering.
Bring us the concert, supper, reunion or half-formed idea you cannot stop talking about. We begin with the people and the place, then shape the welcome around them: a light left on, a table made generous, a little room for the evening to unfold.
Start with the landscape—limestone, live oak, pine on the ridge, water at last light. Then make one thoughtful experience of it: the fire, the shared table, the stars. Pine green, gold trees and Field Notes plaid become the host’s quiet signature, carried through each scene with a light hand.
Gathering concepts / dates, partners and details are still taking shape. See the holiday dream, Oh Holy Lights

A horseback ride that gives way to an outdoor meal, a fire and the last of the light.
Watercolor, a little sparkle and a table where nobody needs to be good at painting.
A shared table, live music, a local voice and enough time to stay for one more story.
S’mores, simple games, familiar songs and small adventures that kids and grownups can share.
Writing, making, cooking or learning something side by side, with a welcoming host and good materials.
A lights drive, warm cocoa, music and easy ways for families and neighbors to join in.

Together we can talk about the shape of the gathering, possible places and trusted local contacts, what support would help, and what the pricing could look like. Then we can build a plan that fits the idea and the people at its center.
